2007 Nissan Xterra Timing chain whine
Quick video of a new to me Xterra that I'm going to be working on with my Son. Pretty sure the sound here is the problem with the timing chain guides

Simple DIY Longboard holder / hook / shelf made from some 3" PVC. Made a simple plug/jig for the end to help hold the pipe when cutting.
Crates from 2x4's
Просмотров 31 тыс.6 лет назад
Using some Jig's to make some simple crates from 2x4 pieces. Now that I know the Jig works, I'll be saving all the 12" 2x4 scraps to make more of these in the future. The Corner pieces I cut from the nastier looking scrap pieces. 16" x 12" x 11-1/2"h

Cutting Pallet wood WITH nails in it
Просмотров 7 тыс.7 лет назад
I think I just found my favorite way to work with Pallet wood. I cut the pallets apart using a Saws-All by slipping a long blade between the slats. I can then use the Diablo Demo Demon to cut the wood to size ignoring the nails. Only problem with this method is you have to watch where you put screws during your project assembly.

What to do with left over pieces of flooring. I'm cutting some coasters or cup holders from the left over pieces of vinyl click together floor planks. Flooring: Shaw Matrix, Regency Gun stock from lowes Hole saw: 4-1/4" which gives a finished coaster size of 4-1/8"
Cutting steel quickly
Просмотров 17 тыс.8 лет назад
Cutting a hand saw blade quickly using a cold chisel and a vise. This produces a surprisingly smooth cut. Though, if you hit the same spot too many times it does damage the off-cut side. I found that 2 stiff whacks per cut was perfect.
Carving knife from an old saw blade and pallet wood

Un-Winterizing my workshop
Просмотров 7048 лет назад
I'm taking down the plastic tarps and curtains I was using to help keep my shop above freezing last winter. I didn't record the install, so I figured I'd record the take down in case anyone else would like to do something similar as it did help a LOT.

Hermoso trabajo, diez años después sigue siendo actual ❤
Best video . Please can you show the cutting and welding details with dimension s
Neat idea
its not off!
did you remove the mill scale before welding, i am a newbie to stick welding , i find everyone over here saying how important it is to remove or else the weld will fail, just trying to learn welding and not getting the desired results.
What was the old book?
Why is your blade tilt locking clamp loose?
Harddrive magnet to the rescue on the dropped bolt!! ;)
Sounds more like a tranny whine to me
On the Right hand side of my Delta Radial arm saw, it has a red knobbed handle that is used to stop the motor from spinning (manual operated engine/motor brake.
Have a small amount of play in the shaft. Normal or peoblem?
That would be a problem. Sounds like bad bearings.
Alright, here is the lead me here. Let's present it, to see if a) I get an answer and b) you read your comments...haha. As a kid, I worked in a service station. In those days, when you plugged a pneumatic tool, you had to pull the sleeve back, stick the male into the female and then let the sleeve loose. I guess it just happened so gradually that I did not notice that, over time, the need to pull back that sleeve to connect your tools went away. Gradually, the newer style where you could just jam in in without fooling with the sleeves replaced the kind that were normal when I was a kid in the 80s. I didn't notice until I replaced all of my air hoses this week, and bought some cheapo brass couplers for them. When I could not connect without pulling back that sleeve...I suddenly realized that this was the way 40 years ago, and that I hadn't had to do that for many years. So...back to Amazon. I don't know what words to look for to ensure that the couplers are "automatic," so I just went with the "Milton" brand name, assuming that the brand everyone likes so much will be selling the newest styles. So, the Milton S 715s are on their way. They will be here on Saturday. You are holding one in your hand. Did I get it right? Will these connect without the need to pull back the sleeve?
How does it compare to Delta’s 10” 33-267??
Great looking Trays, especially from the beginning until you finished them. What were your dimensions for the trays?
How much ..where can I 0rdef
I would buy this scraper if it was on sale! I can't find anything like it online!
Thanks for your honesty
Right near your paper towel. LOL
Reception saw blades is my try going to be and new not burn up should be a great try Great handle and loads of tips. Haw Buddy we learning together ❤️ thanks for teaching Sir
I know this is an old video but this saw has a crud blade brake that is controlled by some contacts under the cover top of the motor. when mine starts coasting like that I blow compressed air under the cover and it usually fixes it. Some time I have to pull the cover and clean the contacts. You should hear three clicks and the motor step down in speed each time then coast to a stop.
The foot works fine. LOL
Best design ever
Great design!! I would just add a 2x scrap for thickness on each shelf support to raise your lower lumber shelf allowing you room to use the crank handle..
Thank you. I think I am gonna give this method a shot. The other one I saw used soda cans, which, in my eyes, isn't really Tin? A Tin Can is a Soup Can, correct? I need to make 10... ughhhh!
That's going to take a long time to make 10 of these. Good luck
@@BigDaddyOworkshop I know man, and Im not crafty like that. Only with music and computers! I'll try though. Everytime I do decide to do something new, what makes it so hard for me at first is materials and tools. So with that being said, I need to make sure I have everything. Otherwise its gonna take even more time to buy whats needed!
I wish you had a clip on the making of the Jigs...
Wow! What a great set up you have there! I'm sure you know what you're doing, but each time you leaned over that running saw to grab your trimmed piece of wood I wanted to look away. I guess that's how it's done, but if something made you suddenly slip forward (yeah, I suppose that's unlikely), the damage would be irreparable. I'm not your Mom, so I don't mean to sound like it, but that open blade is pretty frightening! Enjoyed the video (other than THAT)! Thanks for sharing!
Look so well man.I love DIY tray.
Good show and with a purpose I can relate to. THANKS!
duuuuuuuuuude!!! THIS IS AMAZING!!! Thank you!
tHanks for this...I'm shopping for an old 2006 Xterra now. Big help. Signed Grateful in 3/2022
I like the shape of your handles. Other people make them way too big.
what kind of brackets do i use for 7 * 3 feet bench. should take weight upto 500kgs(6 people)?
I’ve looked at YT videos on cutting saw plates all day. I think this is the only one that will work. I’m making a knicker for a wooden hand plane. This will be perfect. Thanks!
Law of Attraction. The rule is, everything you want, you will find, in miraculous "unexpected ways." It is a law of manifestation. Do you still have this saw?? Do you like it more than the Dewalt saws? Nobody seems to appreciate the Craftsman or Delta saws. I am really tempted to get one of these Delta models.
no i don't have it anymore as i've downsized to a shed and had to get rid of my big tools. I did like it a lot though. especially for 1/2 laps
What a cool idea on the crosscut sled for cutting grooves for the miter splines! I've seen a ton of videos, but never saw that idea before. Great video
Super cool idea. I used to use the samples from the stores as coasters, but this a better idea. Inadvertently, this has solved another problem of mine - I can use this technique to make circles in my Vinyl for my Pool Table legs. 2 in 1 solution. But how much heat can these coasters take?
Absolutely gorgeous 💓
I know this is an old video. But I was just given one of these for free.
And??
very nice results / elegant and simple design / good workmanship! You might find yourself making more of those - strong flip-up tables could be useful elsewhere. If you want to reduce the lateral movement, some washers as shims would tighten things up.
Quiet, efficient, fast and with good finish
Awesome job with the build! 🙂👍 What a cool design! I like how they can fold away when not being used 🔧
What size hole saw ?
I need to make some zero clearance inserts for my Grandad’s old 1963 craftsman. It has the metal piece that fits under the front of the opening. Am I overthinking this or should I try to figure a way to have something similar to the original insert as well?
could this support a barbell with 200 lbs in weight?
This is a great coat rack! I hope to make one like it, or at least use your techniques.
Good work 👍
You rock man! Been trying to think up a fix for this for years! I’m going to machine (I’m a die maker) mine out of aluminum but use your idea, thanks!
Awesome job! Anyway I could buy a pair from you?
Don’t forget about the transmission problems too. The antifreeze mixes with the trans fluid due to a bad radiator. Nissan knew of the issue. Instead of doing a recall and replacing the radiator, they did nothing which caused the transmission to go as well. Way to screw your customers Nissan! No more Nissans for me.
How much will this timing chain repair cost me? I'm so upset right now that I could just cry. I always just thought that was just the way that it sounded. I've heard that whining since 2018 when I first bought it!!! I just spent $3600 last week to replace the transmission because of SMOD and right now today it's at the shop having the fuel level sensor done because of P0463. I'm with you Nissan Never again!!
😅 I had this same issue thankfully continental transmission knew this and was able to still get the recall number for the parts on a 2007 in 2018 😯 they fixed my trucks transmission but service drive dropped the ball. I paid for a new radiator before the transmission was repaired come to find out service drive charged me and never replaced the radiator which almost cause the same issue with transmission failure. Thank goodness for RUclips videos like these because I’d be oblivious and janky mechanics would still be charging me for repairs they never fixed 🤦🏾♀️ All that said my Xterra has 229k+ miles on it and runs great just mostly minor repairs needed every so often.
@@rae8tytherealest what is the TSB or recall number?
Why would Nissan use a plastic tensioner with the timing chain? I know, to to rip people off. Fuck Nissan
